Arctic Accelero VGA Coolers

A couple of days ago the company of Arctic presented their next generation VGA coolers, including updates to the previous models. All the models include a backplate, specifically designed to be mounted without any gluing or taping, meaning a lesser chance for voiding your warranty. Three coolers are updated with the backplate – Accelero Twin Turbo III, Accelero Xtreme IV, Accelero Xtreme IV 280(X) and Accelero Hybrid II-120. Accelero Xtreme IV 280(X) is virtually the same as Accelero Xtreme IV, just the contact copper plate for the VGA chip is with different orientation and is only compatible with AMD cards. Two of the models represent air cooling and Accelero Hybrid II-120 speaks for the air/water cooling. Cooling capacity varies from 250 Watts to 320 Watts for the air/water cooling version.

Let’s begin with the smallest of them all – Accelero Twin Turbo III features five copper heatpipes, each with 6mm diameter. They are connected to aluminum fins (35 in total), which are cooled by two 92mm silent fans. Both fans are PWM controlled with RPM range between 900-2000 (noise level is 0.3 Sone at maximum RPM). Cooling capacity of this VGA cooler is 250Watts. Compatibility here is both Nvidia and AMD

*No over-clocking is recommended.

accelero_xtreme_iv_280x_g01_1Second in the next generation Arctic Accelero is the biggest GPU cooler in the family Accelero Xtreme IV and Accelero Xtreme IV 280(X). Again, like with its little brother the heatpipes are five, 6mm in diameter connected to more aluminum fins (84 in total to be exact), which are respectively cooled by three 92mm fans. Also PWM controlled with RPM range from 900 to 2000, where the noise level @ 2000 RPM is 0.5 Sone this time. Cooling capacity is 300 Watts and compatibility for Xtreme IV is both with Nvidia and AMD cards, whereas Xtreme IV 280(X) is only AMD compatible.

Compatibility Accelero Xtreme IV:

  • Nvidia – GTX Titan (Black), 780 (Ti), 770, 760, 750 (Ti), 680, 670, 660 (Ti), 650 (Ti,Ti boost), 580, 570, 560 (Ti,SE), 550 Ti, 480, 460(SE), GTS 450, 250, 240 (OEM)
