Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5

Masterbox Lite 5 is one of the new additions in the Masterbox product line up, created from Cooler Master. Its main perks are well described and overall accent falls with feature packed, customizable  chassis that enables boost in aesthetics and performance alike. To back up my words and more importatntly Cooler Master’s words in their product description, take a look at the below photo and judge for yourself:

Lite 5 appears to be quite the stunning case, especially with the bold looks of the front panel, which is called DarkMirror. Quite catchy. MCW-L5S3-KANN-01 is the actual model name of the case and it comes only in black color, both in exterior and interior portions of the case. Acrylic windows are present on the side panel, edge to edge and on the front panel as well to really enhance that PC look. Looking at the photos one can clearly see the customizable options of the top and bottom trims, which Cooler Master shared on their website for free download. This will enable users to experiment, share and discuss ideas on how to make Lite 5 even more stunning.

Now let’s talk numbers. Lite 5 is a mid tower chassis, coming in at 468.8 x 200 x 454.5mm (LxWxH) physical dimensions and is made out of steel combined with plastic. Interior-wise the case can accommodate ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards, up to 3 storage devices (Combo mounts 3.5″ / 2.5″ are total of 2) and one dedicated SDD mount. Clearance-wise we have 160mm of maximum height for a CPU cooler and 400mm of GPU length. PSU length is limited to 180mm. Conveniently there is a PSU cover to keep the system neat and tidy, cable free.

Fan support goes up to 4 fans, 120mm and/or 140mm in size. One is preinstalled out of the box on the rear and is 120mm. Behind the beautiful front panel you can install either three 120mm fans or two 140mm ones. That way you will have sufficient amount of cooling with positive air pressure meaning less dust accumulation.

Water cooling is also an option here:

  • Front: 240mm / 280mm / 360mm radiator (limited) up to 50mm thickness without fan
  • Rear: 120mm radiator

On the top panel we have two USB 3.0 ports as well as HD audio jacks. Accompanying them – power and reset buttons.
