Cooler Master Silencio FP

The Silencio FP Series delivers two brand new 120mm fan models entirely focused on quiet performance. These fans combine Cooler Master’s newest fan technology to bring quality airflow at extremely low noise levels.

The Silencio FP Series are equipped with the latest Loop Dynamic Bearing technology made to deliver life span up to 160,000 hours constant operation. Next to that an all new patented driver IC on the fans provides less vibrations generated by the motor to reduce the noise and uses ultra-low current to save on power consumption. The driver is also more precise, providing more accurate revolutions per minute for better fan management.

The SmartFan engine backs up the driver with a low starting voltage and polarity proofing for less headaches when hooking up. The Silencio FP fans also come with protections against fan jams and an auto-resume function after any blade obstructions are cleared to help protect the blades and motor.

Cooler Master Silencio FP technical specification

The series itself includes two models, which offers:

  1. Silencio FP 120 3PIN with dimensions of 120 x 25mm operating at 1200 ± 200 revolutions per minute, providing airflow level of 38 CFM (64.5 m3/h)± 10%, static level pressure of 1.2 mmH2O ± 10% with noise level of 11 dBA. The fan is equipped with the latest Loop Dynamic Bearing(LDB), which is powered and regulated by 3-PIN cable and connector and is supposed to deliver life span up to 160 000 hours.
  2. Silencio FP 120 PWM with dimensions of 120 x 25mm operating at 800 – 1400 revolutions per minute (PWM) ± 10% ,  providing airflow level of 16.4 – 44 CFM (27.8 – 74.7 m3/h)± 10%, static level pressure of 0.47 – 1.69 mmH2O ± 10% with noise level of 6.5 – 14 dBA. The fan is equipped with the latest Loop Dynamic Bearing(LDB), which is powered and regulated by 4-PIN  PWM cable and connector and is supposed to deliver life span up to 160 000 hours.

Both of the fans will be delivered with up to 5 years warranty.

And here are some additional details regarding the newest technologies provided by Cooler Master quoted from the manufacturer.

About Loop Dynamic Bearing

Loop Dynamic Bearing (LDB) is an extremely rigid and abrasion resistant compound, which reduces vibrations, noise, and results in an incredible 160,000 hour life expactancy. The LDB design features self-lubricating structure to keep the bearing operating smoothly. Furthermore, LDB possesses the highest IP6X dustproof level which enables to reduce the situation of damage and extend the product lifespan up to 160,000 hours. Thanks to the above advantages (self-lubricating and dustproof), the Silencio FP 120 series is definitely an ultra high-end cooling fan for any case and radiator.

About the Silent Driver IC

“Most conventional PWM fan driver ICs put out square signals that cause sudden torque impulses. These impulses can cause minute deformations of the entire fan structure which lead to audible “clicking” noises that are especially noticeable with many common PWM fans running at slower speeds.“

– Competitor about their Driver IC

Indeed, but Cooler Master developed a more advanced technology – Silent Driver IC! The special IC slows down the slew rate of the output signal in order to give a smoother, less sudden torque impulse. This way, PWM switching noises can be effectively suppressed and the fan runs even quieter, especially at low speeds.

Compared to competitor’s product, Silent Driver IC provides ultra-low noise and minimal vibrations from the beginning to the end.
