X5 has been designed to follow the steps of X2 and is quite affordable, stylish and clean looking case. It is constructed from 0.5mm steel and comes in with physical dimension of 423 x 200 x 440 mm (HxWxD) and weight of only 3.4 kg.
Of course, plastic is used for some of the panels and just to add a bit more touch Cooltek has included one red LED fan.
On the outside X5 offers black paint all over, slightly extruded side panels and an interestingly X-formed front grill, acting as a dust filter.
ATX and Micro ATX boards can be installed inside the chassis and storage for up to 4 drives is possible. Two of those are slots for SSD/2.5″drives and the other two for 3.5″ drives for HDD. For the fans of the ODD there is one external 5.25″ drive bay.
Seven PCI slots are available in X5, typical for Mid tower cases.
X5 can accommodate up to 4 fans and one of them is pre-installed out of the box. It’s a 120mm LED fan glowing in red and is mounted at the front, right behind that grill to create an aggressive lighting effect.
On the other hand, the other three slots are as follows:
- Case fan (rear): 1 x 120 mm (optional)
- Case fan (side panel) :2 x 120 mm (optional)
If you plan to install a high CPU cooler, keep in mind that the maximum available height in mm is 150. For the GPU that is 370mm in length, so most high end GPUs can fit here.
On the front panel’s I/O you can use the 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 1 x USB 2.0 port and the HD audio jacks. Power button is located at the top panel.
