So what is Enermax T.B.Vegas Single?
For the past three years Enermax have been developing the T.B.Vegas series as a group of fans with dimensions from 80 up to 140mm under the T.B.Vegas Duo and T.B.Vegas Trio subseries offering very good airflow/noise level balance combined with very attractive visual effects.
About a month ago Enermax expanded the T.B.Vegas series with a brand new sub series called T.B.Vegas Single – UCTVS12P and featuring three absolutely identical models with dimensions of 120 x 120 X 25 mm, PWM powered and regulated with MTBF up to 100 000 hours and with three different backlights done by 18 SMD LEDs:
The models are:
- Enermax UCTVS12P-BL – Blue backlight
- Enermax UCTVS12P-R – Red backlight
- Enermax UCTVS12P-W – White backlight
Since I’ve pretty much described some of the official technical details, I am really eager to check what Enermax T.B.Vegas Single – UCTVS12P-BL, UCTVS12P-R and UCTVS12P-W have to offer to me and everybody who has decided to use any of these fans.
And this is what all of the fans look like together.
Before I start with the article I want to say that all of the three models are actually identical according to the official technical details with just different backlight and frame/propeller colour scheme. So let’s get started.
All 3 fans arrived to me for doing a test and review in absolutely the same package made of a see through transparent plastic box, through which we can see the fans frame and propeller structure, and a carton part in light blue/black colours hiding the additional accessories. And here I want to warn everybody who plan to buy these fans to be very careful when opening the package. The plastic box is pretty tough, which is good when protecting the fans but when opening the package you may cut your fingers.
On the front side of the carton part there are some of the main technical details described regarding the products, including the backlight colour, while the full technical specification, all of the details regarding the technologies used so these products can be created and information regarding the backlight modes are described on the back side of the carton cover inside the plastic box.

First thing to notice after I took all of the models out of their packages is that they offer absolutely the same design featuring a standard for all of the T.B.Vegas series plastic square 120mm frame, painted in glossy black or glossy white with an aluminum border forming a cylinder around the propeller with the name of the company cut in by laser.
The frames themselves are made so all of the fans can be installed on a 120mm case fan slot for boosting the case airflow or on a 120mm heatsink cooling a processor.
Since all three models are part of the T.B.Vegas series, there is the LED stripe inside the cylinder part of the frame around the propeller with 18 x blue, red or white SMD LEDs for providing the awesome backlight, which makes this series pretty unique. And to boost the visual effect of the backlights the guys from Enermax included the typical for the series detachable propellers featuring 7 not very wide but with very sharp angle blades design and of course half of each blade is transparent for the blue and red versions and white for the white version, while the other half is made with a reflective surface to reflect the lights.

The connection between the propeller and the frame for all three models is done by a Twister Bearing featuring Smart APS (Adjustable Peak Speed) technology, recently announced by Enermax, done by a small switch located on the back side of the fan allowing me and all people who have these fans to set the maximum rotation limits of the fans. According to the official technical details all of the fans provide 3 operational modes:
- Ultra Silent Mode offering revolutions per minute range of 500~1200, providing airflow level range of 34.69~86.11 m3/h, static pressure range 0.618~1.504 mm-H2O at noise level range of 14~20dBA.
- Silent Mode offering revolutions per minute range of 500~1500, providing airflow level range of 34.69~107.48 m3/h, static pressure range 0.618~1.680 mm-H2O at noise level range of 14~22dBA.
- Performance Mode offering revolutions per minute range of 500~1800, providing airflow level range of 34.69~129.09 m3/h, static pressure range 0.618~2.276 mm-H2O at noise level range of 14~25dBA.
The powering and the regulation of the fans is done by a fixed to the frames sleeved in black or white mesh 4-Pin PWM power cable. Apart from that there is a second cable attached to the fans with a button for switching between backlight modes. And all of three fans offer 6 backlight operational modes which are:
- – All On mode
- – Sparkle mode
- – Propeller mode
- – Triple – propeller mode
- – Vegas mode (combining all 4 modes above)
- – OFF mode
After I checked the fans structure, now let’s check out their additional accessories.
All three models offers identical package content featuring:
- Four rubber dumpers for mounting the fans on a case fan slot.
- 4-to-3 Pin power adaptor for powering the fans directly from the power supply.
- One self-adhesive rubber strips for attaching the backlight button cable to the case.
After I spent some time checking the fans structure and features, I believe it is time to check how they will perform.
The tests will be conducted in my standard way. I will mount the fans and test them at 5V/7V/9V/12V and my goal will be to check the performance of the fans in real conditions. The products will be tested under close-to-perfect conditions, not taking into account any external factors. The results achieved during the tests can in no way be the same if the fans are mounted on a cooler or on the case fan hole of any modern computer case. I will measure the amount of air going through the models for one hour and their speed. For this I use a fan controller, a voltage meter, an anemometer and a stand made specifically for this purpose.

After mounting the fans onto the stand, and leaving them to rotate for about 30 minutes at maximum speed, it was time for the tests to begin.
As with my other tests, again I started with a gradual increase of the voltage through the Lamptron FCT starting at 0V and all three models made at least one full revolution at about 5.5V. Apart from that at the same voltage the LED strips for all 3 models started blinking. So, to do the first test I had to decrease the voltage to 5V.
Test at 5V:
At the first test conducted at 5V, UCTVS12P-BL was rotating at 870 revolutions per minute, providing airflow level of 60.48 cubic metres per hour. UCTVS12P-R was rotating at 840 revolutions per minute with airflow level of 57.6 cubic metres per hour and UCTVS12P-W was providing airflow level of 59.04 cubic metres per hour, while working at 855 revolutions per minute. All three fans were completely silent.
Test at 7V:
At the second test conducted at 7V, UCTVS12P-BL was rotating at 1170 revolutions per minute, providing airflow level of 86.88 cubic metres per hour. UCTVS12P-R was rotating at 1140 revolutions per minute with airflow level of 80.16 cubic metres per hour. UCTVS12P-W was providing airflow level of 86.4 cubic metres per hour, while rotating at 1200 revolutions per minute. At the second test again all three fans were completely silent.
Test at 9V:
At the third test conducted at 9V, the blue version was providing airflow level of 107.52 cubic metres per hour while rotating at 1485 revolutions per minute. The red version was rotating at 1455 revolutions per minute with airflow level of 99.36 cubic metres per hour. The white version was providing airflow level of 104.4 cubic metres per hour, while working at 1455 revolutions per minute. At the third test all three fans started generating a tiny noise from the air passing through the propellers.
Test at 12V:
At the final test all of the models showed their best performance, which for UCTVS12P-BL was 137.76 cubic metres per hour, while working at 1830 revolutions per minute, 135.84 cubic metres per hour, while working at 1830 revolutions per minute for UCTVS12P-R and 136.8 cubic metres per hour for UCTVS12P-W, while working at 1830 revolutions per minute. The noise generated from all three models increased, which is normal since we are talking about 1830 revolutions per minute and this always make the fans a bit noisy.
After I am done testing it is time to share my conclusions:
After I spent some time having fun with all three models I can say … pretty good job, Enermax.
All of the fans feature identical frames and propeller structure, offering a Twister bearings made with very good airflow/static pressure levels balanced combined with low to average noise level. Apart from that there is a tiny switch on the back side of the fans which can provide the option to limit the maximum revolutions per minute and choose the best possible airflow/revolutions per minute/noise level ratio. This feature makes all three models to be a really good choice to be installed as case fans for improving the airflow inside the case or as fans mounted on a suitable heatsink cooling a processor working at default or even overclocked frequencies. I believe in all cases, these 3 fans will handle keeping your system cool, quiet and running.
As part of the T.B.Vegas series all three models provide a truly spectacular lights effect in blue, red or white colours done by an 18 SMD LEDs stripe installed inside the frames around the propellers, which can make every modern case look even more attractive and eye-catching. Apart from that the 6 different operation modes, provide an option to choose the best visual effect for your rig or modding project.
I think Enermax T.B.Vegas Single – UCTVS12P-BL, UCTVS12P-R and UCTVS12P-W deserve the following reward:
