Noctua NH-C14S and NH-D15S

Noctua announced announced two new additions to its portfolio of quiet and efficient CPU coolers – NH-C14S and NH-D15S. Currently there are versions of those coolers in the market, however these ones are made to provide extended compatibility without too much sacrifice in the performance.

Let’s check out the NH-D15S first. It has similar design with the famous NH-D15 premium cooler, but the main difference is its asymmetrical design compared to the NH-D15, thus leaving more space for the first PCIe slot in µATX and ATX motherboards. It is made of aluminum and copper, covered in nickel like the rest of Noctua’s coolers.A total of six heat pipes are responsible for the efficient cooling.

It comes with single fan straight of the box, however, brackets for a second fan are included and RAM compatibility is up to 65mm.

noctua_nh_d15s_2The fan is NF-A15 140mm in the standard Noctua color scheme, mounted in between the two heat sinks. It has a round frame that complies with Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard. SSO2 bearing is present here, along with PWM control and all other airflow optimization features that usually come with Noctua fans – NF-A15 Flow Acceleration Channels, Stepped Inlet Design, Inner Surface Microstructures, Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads. Low-Noise Adaptor is also included in the package.

1200 RPM is the maximum the fan is capable of and it produces 115,5 m³/h of airflow. Noise is kept to almost a minimum at 19,2 dB(A).

Going to the second familiar cooler we have the NH-C14S, which in terms is the “S” version of a very efficient and highly compatible NH-C14 “C”- type CPU cooler. Here we have again six heat pipes and “C”- type design with a single fan. The idea here again is high compatibility and maximum efficiency. With the fan NF-A14 PWM mounted on the top there is 70mm of space for RAM modules. With the fan mounted on underneath the heat sink the total height of the cooler is 115mm, making it possible to be mounted inside restricted spaces, such as HTPC cases.

noctua_nh_c14s_8 NF-A14 PWM has maximum RPM level of 1500, producing 140,2 m³/h of airflow. It is very quiet and generated only 24,6 dB(A) when spinning at maximum RPMs, due to the multiple optimizations from Noctua such as – SSO2 bearing, Flow Acceleration Channels, Stepped Inlet Design, Inner Surface Microstructures, Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads and brilliant PWM control.

Both coolers come with SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system and Noctua premium thermal paste – NT-H1.

Compatible sockets are:

  • Intel LGA2011-0 & LGA2011-3 (Square ILM), LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1150
  • AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ (backplate required)
