NZXT Kraken X41/X61 are the newest additions in AIO liquid coolers from NZXT and they both feature the world’s first variable speed water pump. What it brings to the table is that rather than manually regulating the revolutions per minute through BIOS or voltage regulator you can do this from the Kraken software by a click of a button, as easy as that. Both X41 and X61 have extended tubing – 400 mm for easier installation and neat system build.
NZXT KRAKEN X41
The smaller one from the two – X41, features a 140 x 172.5 x 36mm thick cooling radiator with denser aluminium fins than the previous model and updated fan – NZXT FX V2 140mm Performance PWM Fan with Nano bearing type. That fan is able to provide airflow level of 42.4-106.1 CFM at 800~2000 RPM respectively while remaining reasonably quiet – 20-37 dBA. The water going to the radiator is moved by a next generation pump that spins at 2400-3600 RPM and is covered by a nice NZXT logo with Hue Controlled Color Changing Lights. For the contact plate under the pump NZXT used pure copper.
NZXT KRAKEN X61
Featuring a 280 mm water cooling radiator, NZXT Kraken X61 is the bigger brother with more cooling prowess than X41. Fan setup here is dual NZXT FX V2 140mm Performance PWM fans each one producing 106.1 CFM at 2000 RPM. Noise level would be a little higher at max RPM, because of the dual fan setup, but when running idle the fans might cool efficiently even at lower RPM, thus remaining quieter. Other features stay the same as X41 such as tubing length and the LED lights over the water pump.
NZXT Kraken X41/X61 compatibility:
