NZXT – All New Kraken

We’ve received info from NZXT that there is a newly emerged Kraken X52, and upgraded Kraken X42 and X62. Let’s go deep into their specifications and inspect their features.  Тhe pump, radiator, and the fans, have been redesigned to achieve better performance and longevity, combined with less noise and more visual appeal. Black paint is predominant on all models and they are fully customizable from the CAM software to ensure you have the right controls at the right time, accompanied by the right lighting.

Redesigning the pump of Kraken allowed for better operation and less noise output. On all models the pump operates in the  1,000~2,800 +/- 300RPM range. That pump drives the water through low evaporation soft tubing which is also long enough to properly install in almost any case on the market.

Kraken X42 has physical dimensions of the radiator: 175 x 143 x 30mm and the pump: 80 x 80 x 52.9mm. Radiator is made of aluminium whereas the contact place is made out of pure copper. Total weight of this unit is 890 g. A cooling fan here is 140mm one and it’s called Aer P140, one of the new fans of the company. The speed if  500~1,800 +/- 300RPM and noise output is measured between 21-38dBA.

All new in the family Kraken X52 comes with an aluminum radiator that measures 275 x 123 x 30mm and the same pump. Total weight is 1.08kg and we have two cooling fans here, both 120mm ones Aer P120 – rotational speed of 500~2,000 +/- 300RPM and noise levels of 21-36dBA.

Lastly , Kraken X62 is the largest of them all, coming in with a radiator measuring at 315 x 143 x 30mm and weight of the unit –  1.29kg. Same fan is used here as in Kraken X42, however there are two fans working between 500~1,800 +/- 300RPM and generating noise of around 21-38dBA.pdp_8447813390dd486aOne of the most advertised features of these coolers is the LED lights embedded into the water pump. It supports a large number of modes, all controlled through the CAM software.

  • Preset Modes: Fixed, Breathing, Fading, Marquee, Covering Marquee, Pulse, Spectrum Wave, Alternating, Tai Chi, Water Cooler, Loading
  • Reactive Modes: Smart and Audio

All of the units support different speed profiles:

  • Fan: Silent / Performance / Custom / Manual
  • Pump: Silent / Performance / Custom / Manual

Here is also a list of the fully supported sockets.

  • Intel Socket 1151, 1150, 1155, 1156, 1366, 2011, 2011-3
  • AMD Socket FM2+, FM2, FM1, AM3+, AM3, AM2+, AM2
