Thermaltake Core P5 Wall-Mount Chassis

Core P5 is definitely not the typical case you’d find in the stores. This time we’re presented with a newly designed wall-mount style case, showing off the entire system so you can admire it…or always have the desire to change a part or two, just for the sake of it.

3-way placement layouts are possible with this interesting product – Wall mount, Horizontal and Vertical, however the user wants it. With the enormous acrylic window, or should I say the actual side window provides excellent viewing position and superb presentation of your hardware. Thermaltake also say it protects as well, but I missed that part, because it’s all about the display.

In a time when almost every case manufacturer strives to achieve the best possible cable management and hide the cable mess, put to display only the most expensive parts of the system, Thermaltake kicked things up a notch with this one.

Let’s mention the technical specification for a moment. Core P5 comes with physical dimension of 608 x 333 x 570 mm and is actually not that light at 12.2 kg. SPCC is used as well as glass for the transparent window. There are 8 expansion slots and the GPU maximum length is280mm (With Reservoir) and 320mm (Without Reservoir) . For the CPU cooler the maximum possible height is 180mm which leads us to believe that compatibility is at a very high level here.

Motherboard support for Mini ITX, Micro ATX and ATX is provided.

About water cooling setup, which is the main hype of this wall-mount style chassis we have the following technical details:

If you like to keep things simpler and want to go with air cooling, there are fan slots for the following setup on the Left side:

  • 4 x 120mm
  • 3 x 140mm

There are total of four customizable 3.5” & 2.5” drive bays which can be also removed to achieve better cable management space. It appears that right next to the MB an SSD can be mounted.

pic2The I/O ports are standard with this not so standard case: USB 3.0 x 2, USB 2.0 x 2 and HD Audio jack.

An finally one of the main features this chassis provides, along with its uniqueness is the 3D printing models, located at a Core P5 microsite (not launched yet). That way further customization can be achieved and quite a few mods can be made with the already superb chassis.
