Zalman M1 is fully black painted ATX Mini Tower case with very clean aesthetic design and dimensions of 261(W) x 394(H) x 426(D)mm. The case looks very sleek and stylish due to the big honeycomb mesh grill and its straight lines. There is an “M1″ logo, located at the side panel in grey, reminding the model name and taking part in the whole looks of the chassis.
Zalman M1 is compatible with Mini ITX motherboards and has two expansion card slots (you can install GPU’s up to 350 mm in length) , one 5.25″ external drive bay, four 3.5″/2.5″ internal drive bays and one hot-swap 3.5″/2.5” drive bay in terms of storage and expansion, whereas PSU support is standard ATX. The whole storage system implemented in Zalman M1 is designed in server tool-free method, featuring easily accessible drives for maintenance and installation. Serious rubber padding is placed inside the HDD cage in order to absorb unwanted vibrations and reduce noise, making it suitable where silence is also a requirement.
Cooling-wise the case can house four 120 mm fans, two of which are preinstalled for you (front panel LED fan and rear fan), one being LED fan, contributing for eye-candy looks. The two additional 120 mm fan slots are located at the top of Zalman M1. Another respectable feature is the integrated dual channel fan controller, enabling you to control the airflow and noise level depending on your needs. One more thing worth mentioning regarding the cooling is the fact that Zalman equipped M1 with two dust filters – one is located under the PSU and the other one, removable “one touch” filter is at the front panel. Under the front dust filter mesh there is an aluminum door with Zalman’s logo, a nice touch from the company, indeed.
I/O panel is located at the front panel and has headphones and audio jacks, along with two USB 3.0 ports.
