DS380 is a SFF (small form factor) case made from SECC and aluminum, used for the clean front panel door. Its dimensions are 211mm (W) x 285mm (H) x 360mm (D) or 21.6 liters, which is pretty impressive, considering the hardware that you can fit inside. Supporting DTX and Mini-ITX motherboards along with two PCI expansion slots it is a perfectly capable case for a NAS machine without compromising on performance.
The total number of drives that DS380 accommodates inside is:
- External: 3.5” SAS/ SATA hot-swap x 8 (2.5” compatible)
- Internal: 2.5” x 4
Silverstone didn’t forget about the need of cooling if you plan to install 12 drives (all the fans are preinstalled for you):
- Rear: 1 x 120mm 1200rpm 22dBA
- Left Side: 2 x 120mm 1200rpm 22dBA
The case also supports SFX PSU and maximum CPU cooler height of 57mm, whereas the maximum GPU length is 279mm, but you’d have to sacrifice one hot-swap drive bay.
On the front I/O panel you will find the usual setup: two USB 3.0 ports and audio jacks.
